What to check on a used one

• Step-ups live in heavy water. Check the rails, the nose and every fin box.
• A repaired snap on a step-up matters more than on a groveler. Look hard at the join.
• Confirm the rocker suits where you will surf. A gun-ish step-up is slow in anything soft.
