Used longboards in Bali
A longboard is chosen by length, outline and weight distribution, not by litres per kilogram. Log or performance, single fin or 2+1, the two ride nothing alike, so read the shape before the dimensions. In Bali the sell-off market is thin because most travellers cannot fly one home, which usually means better prices for a local buyer.

Buying a used longboard
Who it suits
Any level, in long gentle waves. Volume is not the way to size one.
What to check on a used one
- Sight the whole length for a buckle. Nine feet of board is nine feet of lever.
- Check the fin box track and the leash plug, both of which take a lot of load.
- Ask about the weight. A heavy log is a choice; a heavy performance longboard is water.
